Killing off Bambi’s mother is one of the biggest crimes Disney’s ever done. The mere thought of Bambi being a little fawn, lost and alone without his mom, breaks hearts. Yes, it did make him strong to stand up for himself and become the new Great Prince. It was a high price to pay.

MY GIRL (1991)
When an innocent character loses the life, it’s always difficult to process it. Vada and Thomas J’s lovely relationship from MY GIRL never looked like it could end in a tragedy. Love makes us do crazy things, and sometimes it costs the life. Seeing Thomas J return for Vada’s mood ring and getting stabbed to death by hornets is one of the most terrible death scenes ever made.

HACHI: A DOG’S TALE (2009)
There are no creatures more loyal than dogs. Hachiko proved that love continues even after death. This movie had two shaking deaths: the owner and the dog’s. Name something more disturbing than seeing that poor dog waiting every day for a train and a man that won’t come.

THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 2 (2015)
So many characters were killed off in the Hunger Games franchise, but no one’s death was more horrific than Prim’s. After all that Katniss did to save her sister, it was still for nothing. Her death was so unnecessary, even Katniss’ scene with Buttercup the cat made us miss Prim even more.
