Eydelman initially told police he’d put the seven-week-old down in her bassinet, and came back to find her unresponsive.
During early investigation Eydelman told police that he milked the baby and put her to sleep in bassinet. After 15 minutes, when he returned the child was unresponsive.

Deputies said that while he is not Gwendolyn’s biological father, he signed her birth certificate when she was born.

Detectives say Gwendolyn’s bassinet was located in Artem and Samon’s bedroom.
He claimed that he returned about 15 minutes later and found Gwendolyn in her bassinet unresponsive and not breathing.
Eydelman said he alerted a family member in the home and called 911.

Doctors informed detectives that Gwendolyn had suffered a severe skull fracture consistent with high force impact, bleeding on the brain, and numerous rib fractures consistent with compression trauma.
During the investigation, detectives said that they identified several inconsistencies in Artem’s statements.
